I have been absent for a while.....18 hours of school, 2 busy kids, a husband who is always TDY (away on temporary assignment for those non-military), and a myriad of volunteer organizations had this junkin' lady busy. I visited a local fav antique store the other day and got to talk with one of the ladies who owns a booth there. So due to her encouragement, I am ready to get back to blogging and hopefully get to know some more wonderful people who love junque as much as I do!!!
I am located in Salado Antique Mall. I also participate in Market Days at SAM, the second weekend of every month. I enjoy being outside selling because it allows me to meet so many wonderful people and get such good feedback on what I do. This business has seen its fair share of the awful economy. January - March were pretty tough months. I was feeling so down because I was not selling much, but then, neither was anyone else. But this is my passion and I could not abandon it. I would much rather be in my garage, covered in paint and sawdust, than sitting in a class learning about the French Revolution and Polynomial Equations. I am working hard on my degree to be done by the time my husband retires (which should be in one year), so it is important I finish. But I just sit and daydream about a new treasure I acquired, what color to paint it and how best to display it in my booth.
As for blogging, this is really new to me. I was wondering who would really want to read what I do, or think or how I feel? But I enjoy so much reading about others fabulous finds, how they came across a lucky treasure and how they displayed it in their home or store. I will start posting pictures again soon of what I have done, be it past or present, and hopefully someone, somewhere will be inspired as so many have inspired me!
