I often run across this issue when working on a piece...once I am done with it, I want to keep it!!! I have been slowly working on stuff that does not require heavy equipment (cause my handy man is deployed!) Like the table saw...it scares me to death. I do work with the miter saw and can handle a cordless drill like nobody's business! Anyway....back to my cute piece. I love when I finish working on one, my sometimes overly opinionated 12 year old will say, "Mom, can we put that in my room?" That makes me beam with pride! She definitely wants this one, but relented by saying, "if it doesn't sell in two months, can you bring it home to me?" Of course, I can!
I did not have to do too much to this piece. Shave down the drawers so they will slide in and out smoothly, and I painted it a nice melon color. This is my new color du jour. I want to douse everything in my garage this color! I took some of the color back down to the original brown stain. The brown against the melon was so beautiful!!! The knobs were so perfect for the lines of this cutie patootie, I left them alone. If you want to visit her (yes, I personify my furniture) come down to Salado Antique Mall July 9 and 10th.
